REVIEW
I have huge respect for Lee Elliot Major as an academic, writer and speaker, and so as a mum of four (18 years to 9 years) I was keen to read this, his latest book. I wasn’t disappointed. Full of wisdom. From the observation in the opening chapter that “our children will need to communicate, network and be resilient - very resilient - to prosper in the workplace of the future”, to the view expressed in the closing chapter that “excessive parenting may do more harm than good for us and our children”. I really like the “Five bits of advice” boxes at and the additional reading recommendations. Also love the quiz at the end to check we have been paying attention (it’s answer C to question 6 for me, always)! A great - and refreshingly honest - book.
